The Dallas Cowboys are 7-2 and just redeemed themselves after an embarrassing loss to the Denver Broncos, yet Dak Prescott still isn’t the credit he deserves.

Prescott isn’t just having a good season. He’s having a great one.

He’s thrown for over 2,000 yards, has a 4:1 TD-INT ratio and is completing over 70% of his passes. Prescott is currently tied with Matthew Stafford for third in the odds standings at +600 to win MVP. Prescott not only deserves to be the favorite based on his play this season, but also by precedent.

The only other quarterbacks to do what Prescott is doing have all won MVPs. To top it all off, the Cowboys are still in play to be the No. 1 in the NFC. If Dallas finishes with a top seed and Prescott continues to play at this level, he’ll have to at the very least be a finalist for the award.

Prescott and the Cowboys have several marquee matchups down the stretch of this season to not only grab the top seed, but they will put Prescott’s talent on center stage.

Dallas plays the Kansas City Chiefs this week, in what should be a fun duel between Prescott and Patrick Mahomes. In the odds standings, Mahomes has moved up to +4000 and needs more signature wins to bolster his case. A win against Prescott will surely do that.

The Cowboys also have a matchup with Kyler Murray (+800) in Week 17, which will be a great closing argument for Prescott if he’s still in the race.

There’s still a lot of football left, but Prescott is playing as well as anyone right now and needs to be rewarded in the odds standings
