In addition to watching what promises to be a spectacular event, WynnBET is offering a chance to win a free golf trip to Las Vegas for you and two friends. All you have to do to enter is bet at least $50 on the Open Championship. You can find out the full details about the contest here.
This year's favorite, Jon Rahm, captured his first major victory at the U.S. Open and did it in spectacular fashion. Rahm sank long birdie putts on the 17th and 18th holes on Sunday to take the lead and eventually secure the win. Torrey Pines has to officially be his favorite place on earth. It was the host of his first PGA Tour victory at the 2017 Farmers Insurance Open, the spot where he proposed to his wife, and now it’s where he won his first major championship.
It’s no surprise that WynnBET has Rahm set as the +700 favorite to win the Open Championship (listed as British Open online and on the app). He’s one of the handful of European golfers who are poised to win the tournament.

With the Open Championship set to begin this Thursday, July 15th, there are a number of golfers of have had to withdrawal from the tournament for a number of reasons. Included on the list are Bubba Watson and Hideki Matsuyama.
Dustin Johnson will want to play well to potentially regain his world number one ranking. DJ missed the cut at both the Masters and the PGA Championship this year, but followed it up with a respectable T19 finish at the US Open.
Rory McIlroy looked like he was ready to make a charge on Sunday, but a bogey at the 11th hole and a double bogey at the 12th hole ended his hope of winning his elusive fifth major championship. He’ll be looking to win his second Open Championship, with his first coming in 2014.
For a moment or two on Sunday at the U.S. Open, it looked like a Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau playoff was going to be possible, but both golfers collapsed down the stretch, especially DeChambeau. He had the solo lead on the 10th tee, but proceeded to shoot eight over par on the back nine to drop all the way down to T26. Koepka finished T4 with a final round of two under par. Koepka has shorter odds than DeChambeau to win the Open, as WynnBET has their odds set at +1400 and +1750 respectively.
The Open Championship is set to take place at Royal St. George’s Golf Course. It’s hosted the British Open on 14 occasions, with the latest coming in 2011 when Darren Clarke was crowned Champion Golfer of the Year. Shane Lowry will finally get his chance to defend his championship, as he won the 2019 edition of the tournament at Royal Portrush. The 2020 Open Championship was cancelled due to COVID-19.
