Kyle Pitts has been touted as one of the best pass-catching prospects the league has seen in a while. Atlanta took Pitts with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Pitts will help fill the void left by Julio Jones, who was traded to the Tennessee Titans this offseason. The Falcons still have Matt Ryan and Calvin Ridley to go with Pitts, making them one of the more interesting offensive trios in the league.

While Atlanta and oddsmakers are sold on Pitts, the players paid to stop him aren’t.

He’s a little light in the ass to be a tight end,” Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan said on Bleacher Report’s draft show. “As long as he's detached from the line and not attached to the line, cuz then I have to detach him from his body.”

Jordan’s shot at Pitts comes with some skepticism. Yet Pitts was taken No. 4 overall for good reason. In eight games during his final season at Florida, Pitts caught 43 passes for 770 yards.

WynnBET is giving Pitts the fifth best odds to win Offensive Rookie of the Year with +850 odds. Pitts is just under Trey Lance (+750), who at this point has yet to be named the starter. If Lance sits, Pitts’ odds will surely see a rise.

On top of his OROY odds, Pitts is also on the leaderboard for receiving yards. Granted, Pitts’ odds are long at +20000, but he should receive a lot of opportunities now that Jones is gone.

Pitts is not an old school tight end. He can line up inside and outside and can be a primary target in any offense. Jordan warned Pitts to stay outside, and that honestly might be where he will be. However, it won’t be because he’s scared. It’s because that’s where he is most dangerous.
