PAC-12 play gets started for a pair of teams in Pullman, Wash. this weekend in what is shaping up to be a pair of contenders.

Washington State and transfer quarterback Cameron Ward have surprised early in the season, out to a 3-0 start including a win at Wisconsin. Now, the Cougars open PAC-12 play against No. 15 Oregon, who has looked much strong after losing to No. 1 Georgia in Week 1, beating BYU handedly at home 41-20.

Can the Incarnate Word transfer Ward lead a contender in Washington State? Or will Oregon flex its muscles against a conference foe and continue to build on its hot streak?

Here are the odds from FanDuel Sportsbook:

Oregon vs. Washington State Prediction and Pick

Oregon has far more talent on the roster, and the Ducks are coming off an impressive victory over a quality opponent in BYU, but this could be a great sell high spot on them.

It starts with quarterback play: Auburn transfer Bo Nix looked phenomenal at home this past weekend, completing 13-of-18 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns while adding three rushing TDs on the ground.

However, dating back to his time with the Tigers, he has been a different quarterback on the road.

Including this season, Nix has a completion percentage of 64.9% at home along with 30 touchdowns and two interceptions. However, when he goes on the road his production falls off a cliff as he completes 55% of his passes with 12 TD passes and 12 interceptions.

Nix faces a stout Wazzu defense that traveled to Madison and overwhelmed the Badgers already this season. On the year they are 23rd in yards per play allowed and are tied for the nation's highest sack total at 14. They also are fourth in havoc, meaning that if the volatile Nix is not playing at a high level, this Cougars defense can pounce on mistakes.

The Ducks defense shut down the run game of BYU, but Jaren Hall was able to find some success through the air (albeit in a negative game script) passing for 305 yards while completing 70% of his passes. This could be paramount against a Wazzu offense that wants to attack through the air with Ward.

The imported Incarnate Word offense hasn't been as clean as expected just yet with Ward coming over with his former head coach Eric Morris, but the Cougars have been stout in the trenches, top 10 in offensive line yards. If Ward has time, this offense can hum and keep pace with the Ducks.

I recommend looking for +7, but I'll take a stab at Washington State, who can maybe shake up the PAC-12 early in the season.
