Wednesday is the finale of another big series in the AL East.

It feels like every series in that division is big, especially between teams vying for Wild Card Spots. Both the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles are in the running for those three tickets to the postseason.

Tonight is the ninth meeting between these division rivals and there are still 10 more meetings on the schedule. Austin Voth takes the ball for Baltimore and Ross Stripling makes the start for Toronto.

Let’s take a look at the odds from WynnBET

Orioles vs. Blue Jays Odds, Run Line and Total

Run Line

  • Orioles +1.5 (-145)
  • Blue Jays -1.5 (+125)

Moneyline

  • Orioles +140
  • Blue Jays -165

Total

  • 9.0 (Over -105 / Under -115)

Orioles vs. Blue Jays Prediction and Pick

These two starting pitchers have a very similar path to the rotation this season. Both began the season in the bullpen and gradually progressed into a starting role. The difference is that Austin Voth came over to Baltimore from the Nationals and did not start the season in the AL East.

Voth struggled in Washington, so his overall numbers do not impress, but he has found something in his time in Baltimore. Voth has made nine starts for the O’s and has a 3.21 ERA compared to his 10.13 in 18.2 innings with the Nats. Making the short drive over into Maryland has changed everything and now Voth has won his last two starts

Ross Stripling didn’t have to change places this year, just roles on the team. Stripling is 5-3 with a 3.16 ERA and 3.02 fielding independent pitching.

When it comes down to it, these are nearly identical pitchers and Toronto has the better offense at home. What could have been a great opportunity for Baltimore to leapfrog their AL East rivals will likely go down as a disappointment.

Pick: Blue Jays -1.5 (+125)
