Orioles vs. Royals Prediction and Odds for Sunday, June 12 (Bet on a Busy Night for Scoreboard Operator in KC)
By Matt De Saro
Just when I thought things couldn't get worse for the Baltimore Orioles, they come out and lose two games in a row to an awful Kansas City Royals team. Both are among the worst rosters in the league, but the Royals dropped 15 runs on Baltimore in the first two games. They looked more like the 1927 Yankees than the 5th place team in the AL Central.
The Royals were just 2-8 in the 10 games leading up to this series. But, leave it to the Orioles to fail even against the weakest of teams.
Here are the odds for this game.
Orioles vs. Royals Odds, Run Line, and Total
Run Line:
- Orioles: +1.5 (-185)
- Royals: -1.5 (+152)
Moneyline:
- Orioles: +111
- Royals: -121
Total:
- Total 9.5 (Over -120/Under +100)
Orioles vs. Royals Prediction and Pick
The Orioles are in need of a win here, but are in a tough spot with Dean Kremer making his second start of the season. He was on the shelf with an oblique injury and got the call after a very impressive rehab run for Triple-A Norfolk. However, he was knocked around by the Guardians last Sunday in his debut. Kremer gave up three earned runs in 4 ⅓ innings while striking out three and walking one. He got pulled after 67 pitches and should extend to about 80 today. While I’d like to say that his work in AAA gives me faith in him to rebound, that is just not the case. Kremer finished last season with a 7.55 ERA and 1.64 WHIP in 53 ⅔ innings of work. I don’t expect much more from him this season even if the Orioles do.
Brad Keller gets the start for KC and I won’t say that he’s all that much better at 1-7. But, his metrics aren’t that bad and look better after a terrible May.
I want to take them over in this game due to the lack of talent on the mound. There is a lack of talent at the plate too, which worries me. Despite this, I think the Royals are hitting well right now and I think at least one of these pitchers gets blown up today.
Pick: OVER 9.5 (-115)
