Orioles vs. Yankees Prediction and Odds for Thursday, April 28 (Bronx Bombers are Raking)
By Matt De Saro
Despite sitting in last place in the AL East, the Baltimore Orioles have a few impressive series wins under their belt this year. Particularly they have had series wins over the Los Angeles Angels and New York Yankees in recent weeks.
The Yankees got their revenge in this three-game series vs. the Orioles and look for the sweep this afternoon.
New York is now 7-1 straight up in their last eight games. Can they keep their winning ways going?

Orioles vs. Yankees Prediction and Pick
While the Orioles continue to struggle, there are some bright spots on this roster. One of those spots in the first few weeks has been Bruce Zimmermann. The lefty from Charm City is 1-0 with a 1.20 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 15 innings. He blanked the Yankees a couple of weeks ago over five innings.
It’s still a little early to dub Zimmermann a breakout star. His career ERA of 4.59 is troublesome and I’ll need to see more from him before I am sold on him long term. But, the fact is that he is dealing right now.
Facing off against Zim will be Jameson Taillon. The Yankees won the last two games Taillon pitched, including one against the Orioles. Taillon is a great talent, with one major flaw in his game. He gives up way too many home runs.
He has coughed up a long ball in each of his first three starts against the Blue Jays, Orioles, and Guardians. Other than that, he’s been quite good and still has a 3.07 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. But he gives up more fly balls than grounders and nobody ever hit a home run on a ground ball.
Despite my misgivings on Taillon, my thoughts on the Orioles are clear. The Orioles have the 25th ranked batting average and 28th in runs scored per game. More good news for the Yankees is that Baltimore ranks last in home runs per game at 0.47.
I think that Taillon does enough to keep the Orioles at bay while the Yankee bats eventually crush this bullpen. Especially after the 12-run night, they had on Tuesday. Anthony Rizzo had three home runs and the Yankee offense is clicking.
Pick: Yankees -1.5 RL (-110)
