Pacific vs. USC Prediction and Odds (Tigers Outmatched in Hostile Territory)
By Matt De Saro
The Pacific Tigers and No. 21 USC Trojans face off for the first time in history tonight in a clash between the West Coast Conference and Pac-12.
The Tigers enter this matchup with a 7-15 overall record; winless in conference play. That won't change tonight even if the Tigers manage a miracle upset over the 19-4 Trojans. USC will be playing angry tonight after taking a loss to No. 7 Arizona in their last game 72-63.
With a near-20 point spread, they should have little trouble pulling that off tonight. But, is the spread too much for them to cover against the Pacific? Here are the odds for this non-conference matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
Pacific vs. USC Odds, Spread, and Total
Spread:
- Pacific +19.5 (-110)
- USC -19.5 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Pacific +1200
- USC -3001
Total: 134.5 (Over -110/Under -110)
Pacific vs. USC Prediction and Pick
The first thing I noticed when looking over this matchup was that neither team can buy an ATS win over the last couple of weeks. The Trojans are 1-3 ATS in their last four games and just 4-7 ATS as a home team. While that is pretty bad, the numbers for the Pacific are far more tragic. They are a mere 4-17 ATS on the year and have yet to cover a single game on the road. They do have two ATS wins as underdogs but it took 13 games to get there.
The Tigers' offense will be struggling from wire to wire to score against the Trojans' 30th ranked scoring defense. Pacific ranks 293rd in scoring offense and 315th in effective field goal percentage. They can’t shoot free throws, three-pointers and rank 194th in personal fouls per play.
Ultimately, I don’t see a path to an ATS win for Pacific here and am going to take a chance on USC to beat up on a pretty weak Tigers team.
Lean: USC -19.5 (-110)
