Packers vs. Buccaneers Best Prop Bets for NFL Week 3 (Brady vs. Rodgers Will be Won on the Ground)

Who would have thought we would ever see a game between Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady where the total is only 41.5. Certainly not me, but here we are as the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are both defense-first teams. Neither guy has top receivers for this one so it might be a ground and pound 17-14 finish. That makes for some interesting prop bets and here are my favorites. 

Best Prop Bets For Packers vs. Buccaneers

• Leonard Fournette Over 70.5 Rush Yards
• AJ Dillon Over 2.5 Receptions 
• Tom Brady Under 251.5 Pass Yards

Leonard Fournette Over 72.5 Rush Yards

Chris Godwin is injured, Mike Evans is suspended, and Julio Jones is injured. Godwin and Jones could potentially play, but I wouldn’t count on either of them. That means Brady will not have many options to throw the ball down the field. He really won’t have a lot of options to throw the ball short either. The Bucs are going to have to turn to Fournette all day and I imagine he will come through. Fournette has never been the most efficient runner, but he has always succeeded with a high volume of touches. I think Fournette goes over 100 yards on the ground this week. 

AJ Dillon Over 2.5 Receptions 

Dillon only had one catch a week ago, but was clearly the passing down back in Week 1 against Minnesota. He had five grabs in Week 1 and now we can get plus odds for over 2.5 receptions against one of the best defenses in the NFL. Rodgers doesn’t trust his receivers and spread the ball around instead, so I think he will have to check down to Dillon a few times. 

The Bears were not a real test for what the Packers offense will be. I look more to the offense against the Vikings for how Rodgers will distribute the touches. 

Tom Brady Under 251.5 Pass Yards

Wait so Brady has thrown for 190 yards and 212 in his first two games this year. Week 1 he had Godwin Evans and Jones out there and didn’t go over 200. Last week he at least had Evans and Jones most of the game and barely clearly that mark. Now, I’m supposed to think he will throw almost 50 more yards potentially without any of his top three receivers? No thanks I’ll hammer the under on this prop.
