Packers vs. Cardinals: Biggest Winners and Losers from Thursday Night Football

Even with Davante Adams not in the lineup, the Green Bay Packers still went into Arizona and knocked off the undefeated Arizona Cardinals. The Packers needed a miracle interception at the end of the game by Rasul Douglas to send the dagger into Arizona's hearts, but they did it and moved to 7-1 in the process. Every game is more than just the final score, so here are the biggest winners and losers from Week 8's edition of Thursday Night Football.

Winners

Packers’ +6.5 Bettors

I just want to take this opportunity to congratulate this group of people. You didn't overreact to not having Davante Adams and now you have a little extra money in your pocket. Aaron Rodgers was still the quarterback and you recognized his greatness when the sportsbooks didn't.

Good job. You are tonight's biggest winner.

Packers' Offensive Gameplan

Rodgers didn't put up insanely gaudy stats tonight, but his pass distribution chart was a thing of beauty. Rodgers spread the ball around, with seven different receivers catching passes. The Packers were down two of their top receivers and lost Robert Tonyan in the second half. None of it mattered as Rodgers was still able to move the ball down the field.

Along with Rodgers, A.J. Dillon and Aaron Jones carried the rushing attack. Those two ran for 137 yards and 1 touchdown. Green Bay looked balanced tonight and that should scare the league.

Green Bay executed a perfect gameplan and now it is 7-1.

Losers

Undefeated Seasons

With the Cardinals losing, there are no more undefeated teams. The last team to finish a season undefeated were the 2007 New England Patriots, and we all know how their story ended.

The Cardinals had a chance to win the game, but a miscommunication between Kyler Murray and A.J. Green led to the first blemish on Arizona's record.

The Cardinals are still atop the NFC West and should feel good about where they are at right now. Arizona will travel to San Francisco next week to play the 49ers. The Cardinals are also losers this week because they may have just given up the tiebreaker for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

NFC Competition

If Aaron Rodgers and the Packers can go on the road, on a short week and beat the best team in the conference without Davante Adams, it may be tough sledding for the rest of the conference. Green Bay showed its versatility and ability to win in any environment -- which isn't new with Aaron Rodgers.

Like I mentioned earlier, Green Bay just got the inside track on home-field advantage for the playoffs. There is nothing worse than having to play in freezing cold Lambeau Field to try and get to the Super Bowl, but that just may be the case this postseason.
