The Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings renew their rivalry on Sunday, kicking off the season in Minneapolis. The Vikings have a new head coach and are ready to take the next step -- getting to the playoffs.

Green Bay's goal is likely to get to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2010, but that seems a long way with the offense in question. Even in Week 1, this game feels important as a tone setter for the season.

With a lot of questions and several answers on their way, let's dive into the odds for this one.

Packers vs. Vikings Odds, Spread, and Total

Spread:

  • Packers: -1.5 (-115)
  • Vikings +1.5 (-105)

Odds:

  • Packers:  -120
  • Vikings:  +05

Total:

  • 47.5 (Over -105/Under -115)

Packers vs. Vikings Betting Trends

  • Green Bay is 3-3 in its last six games against the Vikings.
  • The Packers were 4-2 ATS last season in divisional games.
  • Minnesota was the best OVER team in 2021, going 11-6.
  • The Vikings were 2-1 last year as home underdogs.

Packers vs. Vikings Prediction and Pick

With no Davante Adams in Green Bay, the entire complexion of the Packers’ offense is different – and the oddsmakers have taken notice.

The Packers are going to go up against one of the more talented offenses in the NFL, with Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and Dalvin Cook on the other side. The Vikings were 1-1 SU against the Packers last season for a reason, and have a very good chance to get the upset in Week 1.

For this matchup, the value for the Vikings is with the moneyline and the value for the Packers is on the spread. At 1.5-points, you’re better picking on the spread for the Packers. The last seven games between these two teams have finished with a margin over two points, so I don’t expect this one to be that close either.

As for who wins, I’m going with the moneyline upset. The Vikings are going to have all the offensive power in the world, while the Packers will need to figure out their identity on offense. Their lack of a No. 1 receiver worries me and I can’t back them to start the year.

Pick: Vikings ML (+120)
