Packers vs. Vikings Updated Odds and Prediction: What Bettors Need to Know
By Matt De Saro
The Green Bay Packers welcomed back Aaron Rodgers last week and he did what he does best. Led his team to a win. This weekend the Packers hit the road to take on the Minnesota Vikings in the 120th regular-season game between the two. The game dubbed the “border battle” opened with a spread of 2.5 in favor of the Packers with a 49.5 point total.
However, in the days that followed, the spread shrunk to just 1.5 and the total has dropped more than two points to 47.0.
Earlier in the week, Betsided’s Thomas Snodgrass sided with the Packers and the under in a preview. If the odds shift is any indication he was on the right track.

Packers vs. Vikings Prediction and Pick
The odds shortening is a bit of a surprise to me considering Rodgers has torched the NFC North year after year. He is also playing very angry right now after he was outed as being not vaccinated for COVID-19. An angry Aaron is a dangerous opponent. So long as he keeps his head about him, I think the Vikings are in trouble.
The Packers’ defense has looked much better and stepped up in Rodgers’ absence. They have allowed just 11.3 PPG to opponents over the last three weeks. Those games were not against pushover teams either. The Packers had to deal with the Cardinals, Chiefs, and Seahawks in those matchups.
The biggest issue that the Packers face now is the loss of Aaron Jones for at least a few weeks. Jones suffered an MCL sprain but was lucky to avoid a season-ending injury. This leaves the Packers light at RB with rookie Kylin Hill out for the year with a torn ACL. This leaves A.J. Dillon to lead this team to a win alongside Rodgers and Co.
Pick: Green Bay Packers -1.5 (-110)
