Padres vs. Phillies Prediction and Odds for NLCS Game 4 (Bet Philadelphia at Home)
By Reed Wallach
The Phillies used a Kyle Schwarber lead off home run to propel themselves to a 4-2 Game 3 victory and take a 2-1 series lead against the San Diego Padres in the NLCS.
The Phillies will send out left hander Bailey Falter in hopes of taking a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Padres, who will count with Mike Clevinger. Clevinger struggled in his lone postseason start against the Dodgers, will it go better for him against Philadelphia?

I've been banging my hands on the table that there should be no favorite in this series in every game should be a coin flip. The underdog has won all three games in this series and we have continued to see the price shrink with each passing game. Now, I'm taking the (ever so slight) favorite on Saturday night.
The Padres struggles against lefty pitching all season have been apparent, they were 18th in OPS against southpaws during the regular season and are eighth in the postseason. It's not a perfect comparison due to postseason pitching, but the Padres OPS against left handed pitching in the postseason would be 29th in the regular season ahead of only the Marlins.
Falter is making his postseason debut, but comes in on a tear over the second half of the season, lowering his ERA from 4.82 to 3.38 since the All-Star Break.
Meanwhile, the Phillies offense that is showcasing it's talent will face a volatile Clevinger, who allowed five earned runs in his lone postseason start this season year, failing to get out of the third inning. I'll back Philly's offense to keep it rolling against the Padres starter, who has a 5.46 ERA on the road this season, far worse than his 2.88 ERA at home.
