The San Diego Padres are going to be in a fight all season long for the NL West crown. They are neck-and-neck with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants at the top. Today, they’re looking for their fifth straight win and second straight win against the Pirates. Can they get the series win tonight?

Padres vs. Pirates Prediction and Pick

The Pirates have lost four straight games, while the Padres have won four in a row. These are two teams at the opposite ends of the spectrum. I’m going to back the Padres simply because they are the better team and I like getting plus money against the run line.

San Diego is 6th in the league in runs per game and first in the league in walks per game. The Padres can put people on base in creative ways and figure out how to get runs on the board.

Pittsburgh is averaging two runs per game in its last three games. It’s offense has truly fallen asleep and I don’t trust it to wake up against one of the best teams in the league.

Lean:  Padres -1.5 (+105)
