The Carolina Panthers will head down to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to take on the Atlanta Falcons in an NFC South matchup in Week 8.

The Panthers were 3-point favorites over the New York Giants last week, and lost by 22 points, 25-3. Sam Darnold was benched in the fourth quarter for P.J. Walker and the defense couldn’t get the Giants offense off the field. An awful performance all around for head coach Matt Rhule and Carolina.

Atlanta (3-3) defeated the Miami Dolphins last week on a late 36-yard field goal by kicker Younghoe Koo. That’s now three wins in the last four games for the Falcons.

Panthers vs. Falcons Prediction and Pick

The Panthers looked really bad last week, but I don’t think I’m going to fade them this week.

The Falcons have won three of their last four games, but those three wins have come against the New York Giants, New York Jets, and Miami Dolphins. Each of those wins were only by one-possession, at seven or less point margins.

Good job, but I’m not impressed.

The Panthers have lost four in a row after their 3-0 start, but they played competitively against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4, and that team is still in there somewhere. It just didn’t show last week.

The Panthers defense is still miles ahead of the Falcons.

I’m taking Carolina on the moneyline at +125 and spread at +3 (-110).
