Panthers vs. Giants Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for NFL Week 2 (New York Starts Off Hot in Daboll Era)
By Josh Yourish
It felt like every game in the early slate on Sunday went right down to the wire and these two teams know that as well as any. The Carolina Panthers lost on a last second field goal to the Browns and the New York Giants won when the Titans missed a last second field goal.
Brian Daboll got his first win in New York and now the Giants host the 0-1 Panthers and Baker Mayfield.
Panthers vs. Giants Odds, Spread and Total

- New York went 0-1 ATS as a favorite in 2021
- Carolina went 3-7 ATS as an underdog in 2021
Panthers vs. Giants Prediction and Pick
Brian Daboll got the job in New York because of what he did with Josh Allen and the passing game in Buffalo, but in Week 1 it was all about Saquon Barkley and the ground game for New York. Barkley ran for 164 and a touchdown and averaged 9.1 yards a carry. Daboll has shown an ability to adapt to his personnel at least in Week 1, because Daniel Jones is not Josh Allen and never will be.
The Browns recipe for beating the Panthers was similar. They did everything on the ground. Cleveland rushed for 217 yards on Sunday and only needed to throw for 138. Daniel Jones threw for 188 yards and went 17-for-21. He seems to be able to manage the game better under Daboll and Barkley will be dominant again.
I’m hesitant to overreact to the Giants beating a Tennessee team that might not be good this season without A.J. Brown and Harold Landry, but I like the Giants this week. For right now I’ll take them as a slight favorite on the moneyline, but this is a game I would wait to bet until later in the week with more information.
LEAN: Giants -130
