Panthers vs. Red Wings Prediction and Odds: Detroit Snaps Florida's Winning Streak
By Thomas Snodgrass
The Florida Panthers (7-0-0) remain undefeated, but how will they look after head coach Joel Quenneville stepped down. Quenneville was the head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks when a sexual abuse issue with a former video coach occured in 2010.
Sergei Bobrovsky (4-0-0, 1.99 GAA, .942 SV%) will be in net for Florida. The two-time former Vezina Trophy-winning goalie has not allowed more than two goals in any of his last four appearances.
The Detroit Red Wings (4-2-1) have won back-to-back games, defeating the Blackhawks and Washington Capitals in the final two games of a three-game road trip.
Alex Nedeljkovic (1-1-1, 3.40 GAA, .897 SV%) will be between the pipes tonight for the Red Wings at home. Nedeljkovic allowed three goals to Chicago in his last outing, but in his last appearance at home, allowed just two goals on 26 shots against the Calgary Flames.

Panthers vs. Red Wings Prediction and Pick
The Panthers have one of the best offenses in the NHL this season. Florida has scored at least four goals in every game this season. On the other side of the ice, the Panthers have allowed just 1.9 goals per game, second in the NHL.
Florida’s special teams have been good but not great, but they may be the best team in the NHL right now at even-strength; leading with 25 goals.
Detroit has not done as well as the Panthers have done so far, but who has? The Red Wings still have a respectable 3.3 goals per game and have won 50.7 percent of their face-offs. Detroit is a scrappy team and they can pull off the win at home if Nedeljkovic can stand tall, and I think he can.
The Red Wings have had a decent start to their season, and with the Panthers dealing with some unintended coaching turnover this early, I’ll back Detroit at home.
I’m taking the Red Wings on the moneyline at +155.
