AFC East rivals the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills square off this weekend at Highmark Stadium in New York. The way these two teams are playing right now, it feels more like 2011 than 2021.

The New England Patriots are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now and the Buffalo Bills have lost three of their last five games. If you told that to me preseason, I would have laughed. But the Bills' downfall is no joke and neither, it seems, is the new-look Patriots. As they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

The Buffalo Bills were Super Bowl favorites a few weeks ago and now they aren’t even favorites to win their Division. A win over the streaking Patriots would be great and put them back on top of the AFC East.

Patriots vs. Bills Prediction and Pick

I honestly thought it would take Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick longer to put together a winning team. But, here we are. The Patriots are 8-4 and hold the lead in the AFC East heading into this pivotal game. New England is on a six-game winning streak both SU and ATS with several of those games being blowout wins. They have already beaten the top-seeded Titans and then nearly shut the Browns out 45-7. They almost shut out the Panthers and Jets as well and did manage to blank the Falcons.

And yet, they are an underdog to a Bills team that looks like one more loss away from a complete meltdown. It’s hard to bet against a team that you know is better, but the Bills are underperforming so much I just can't trust them.

Pick: New England Patriots +3.0 (-110)
