Pelicans vs. Kings Prediction and Odds: New Orleans' Slump Isn't Over

The New Orleans Pelicans are a tragically bad team without their two best players and are likely to get beat up by the Kings tonight.

The New Orleans Pelicans continue their road trip today with a matchup against the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center.

The Pelicans are off to a dreadful start to the season having won just one game in seven tries so far. They will be on a back-to-back after losing to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night. The only win this team could muster up so far was to the Timberwolves. The lack of Zion Williamson is a big part of the reason for their early-season slump, but still, a 1-7 start is pitiful for any team.

The Kings are coming into this game off the first leg of a back-to-back with a 3-4 record after dropping a game on Tuesday night to the Utah Jazz. It was their second loss in a row after dropping a game on Sunday to the Dallas Mavericks.

Pelicans vs. Kings Prediction and Pick

Both teams are coming off losses on Tuesday night and will be looking for a bounce-back performance. Sadly, for the Pelicans at least, I don’t think it is in the cards.

The Pelicans not only have the worst record of the season but, it’s clear that the team came into the season totally unprepared. This is a tragically bad team without Williamson and is honestly tough to watch at this point.

The Kings, for a 3-4 team, are worlds ahead of the Pelicans right now. They hit a bit of a slump and have lost four of their last six games, including their last two, but still are a far better team than the Pelicans.

With injuries mounting, superstar players out, and a general lack of motivation, the Pelicans look dead in the water just a couple of weeks into the season. Until something changes, I reuse to trust this team in any way, shape, or form.

Prediction: Sacramento Kings -5.0 (-110)
