Penguins vs. Maple Leafs Prediction and Odds: Pittsburgh Cools Down Toronto
By Thomas Snodgrass
The Pittsburgh Penguins are just 2-5 in their last seven games, but the offense put on a big show in their last contest, beating the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, 6-0.
Sidney Crosby scored his first goal of the season after missing a chunk of time recovering from wrist surgery, and then Covid-19. Pittsburgh will continue to be without their No. 2 center, Evgeni Malkin until December at the earliest.
After their 1-5 start, the Toronto Maple Leafs have 10 of their last 11 games to improve their record to 12-5-1, shooting up the standings. The Maple Leafs are currently two points behind the Florida Panthers for the top spot in the Atlantic Division.
Jack Campbell should be the goalie between the pipes tonight for Toronto. Campbell is sporting a record of 10-3-1, a 1.63 goals against average, and a .944 save percentage.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs Prediction and Pick
For Pittsburgh, Crosby is back in the lineup, and that means a lot to this offense. The Penguins have been in the middle of the pack in many offensive statistics, but Crosby should continue to give them a boost.
One of the main issues for the Penguins has been their special teams play. Pittsburgh has the worst power play in the league, connecting on just 11.8 percent of its chances. But, the Penguins should be able to stop the Maple Leafs fifth ranked power play, as Pittsburgh’s penalty killing unit is one of the best in the NHL.
Toronto has been the hottest team in the league, but the Penguins can cool them off.
Pick: Penguins +145 ML
