Too impatient to wait for all four rounds of the PGA Championship to find out if you've won your wager? Then I have the bet for you.

Instead of betting on the winner of the entire tournament you can just bet on which golfer will be leading after the first round on Thursday. It's an exciting way to bet and you can get longer odds on the favorites and some more favorable odds on the longshots.

Sound good to you? Then let's take a look at the first round leader odds and then I'll give you my pick for who will be leading the PGA Championship after Round 1.

PGA Championship 1st Round Leader odds

PGA Championship 1st Round Leader Prediction

The golfer I'm targeting to be the first round leader is Sungjae Im.

His odds to win the whole tournament are set at +3000, but I actually like him to be the first round leader much more at +4000.

Im has historically performed much better on Thursday and Saturday specifically, but seems to struggle on Friday, and more importantly, on Sunday. he ranks 7th on the PGA Tour in Round 1 scoring average, which is obviously key for this bet.

His biggest strength is actually his lack of weaknesses. He's good if not great in every single area, ranking inside the top 60 in every major statistics. He's 10th in total strokes gained and 13th in strokes gained: off-the-tee.

Im is also 12th in bogey avoidance and 6th in sand save percentage, which is going to be key at Oak Hill. He's also coming off a win on the Korean Tour last week, so we know he's in great form.

At 40/1, I love his odds to get off to a hot start at this week's PGA Championship.
