PGA Championship Power Rankings Based on Odds
By Joe Summers
It's PGA Championship week! Phil Mickelson pulled off a spectacular victory in last year's edition and we've got a fully loaded field for the second major of the season.
BetSided's Iain MacMillan has you covered with a preview for the event and our team will keep you loaded with actionable content all week in anticipation of the tournament.
With such a stacked group of players, there's plenty of value to be found across the board. Thanks to the odds from WynnBET, here are the power rankings headed into the 2022 PGA Championship:
PGA Championship Power Rankings
1. Jon Rahm (+900)
Always one of the most consistent players on tour, Rahm is still chasing his first PGA Championship victory. He finished T8 last year, though his best finish came in 2018 when he tied for fourth.
2. Scottie Scheffler (+1000)
The No. 1 ranked player in the world has had an unbelievable year, culminating in winning the Masters last month. He tied for 15th in the PGA Championship last season and added a T4 in 2020.
3. Rory McIlroy (+1400)
Rory won the PGA Championship in 2012 and 2014, but otherwise has just one top-10 finish since (8th in 2019).
4. Justin Thomas (+1400)
The sole major victory of Thomas' career came at this tournament in 2017, though he finished T5 last year and is in great form coming into the week.
5. Jordan Spieth (+1500)
Spieth needs only a PGA Championship win to complete a career Grand Slam, though his best finish came in 2015 when he took second. He added a T3 in 2019, but finished T71 and T30 the last two years.
6. Collin Morikawa (+2000)
The world No. 3 won the PGA Championship in 2020 and finished T8 last season. He took fifth at the Masters and has five top-10's in nine major appearances.
7. Patrick Cantlay (+2000)
Cantlay has never won a major, though he came close at the PGA Championship with a T3 result in 2019. He finished T23 last year but is always a threat to contend with his solid play.
8. Xander Schauffele +2000
The Olympic Gold Medalist has nine top-10 finishes in 19 major appearances, though he's never won one. He was T10 in 2020 but missed the cut last year.
9. Hideki Matsuyama (+2000)
The 2021 Masters Champion has two top-five finishes in nine appearances at the PGA Championship but has never won it. His best result came in 2016, when he finished T4.
10. Cameron Smith (+2200)
Smith has historically struggled at the PGA Championship, only finishing inside the top 25 once in six appearances. He finished T3 at the Masters though, and has been playing the best golf of his career this season.
