PGA Tour Live Odds: 3 Golfers Who Can Make a Sunday Charge at the 3M Open
The 3M Open isn’t exactly sporting the most star-studded leaderboard of all time, but it’s shaping up to be an exciting Sunday finish nonetheless. There are 11 different golfers who will be within two of the lead when they tee-off for the final round. Cameron Tringale has the solo lead at 12-under par, and he’ll be seeking his first PGA Tour win in his 11 year career as a member.
Live odds to win the 3M Open
Here are the top 10 golfers on the live odds list at WynnBET to win the 3M Open.
- Cameron Tringale +300
- Gary Woodland +550
- Maverick McNealy +650
- Charl Schwartzel +1400
- Cameron Champ +1400
- Jhonattan Vegas +1400
- Chez Reavie +1600
- Pat Perez +1600
- Ryan Armour +2200
- Roger Sloan +2200
If you tailed the picks from my 3M Open article last week, then you’ll be alongside with me in cheering for Cameron Champ to cash as a 100/1 winner for us. He currently sits two back from Tringale at 9-under par and has live odds of +1400.
If you’re looking to hedge your bet, or if you just want some action for today’s final round, here are three golfers who I think can make a Sunday charge.
Gary Woodland +550
Of all the golfers near the top of the leaderboard, Gary Woodland is certainly the one that sticks out from the crowd when it comes to name recognition and experience. The 37-year old has four wins on the PGA Tour, and is seeking his first since the 2019 US Open.
He’s been the most well-rounded of the golfers near the top of the leaderboard in terms of statistics. His weakest area this tournament has been his play off the tee, where he’s only gained 0.26 strokes on the field. If he can drive the ball a bit better today, he’ll put himself in a fantastic spot to win.
Charl Schwartzel +1400
More often than not, it’s the golfers who are putting the best that are able to pull away from crowded leaderboards. Among all golfers who sit one or two strokes back from the lead heading into today’s round, Charl Schwartzel is tied with Champ for the best putting performance of the week. He’s gaining 1.87 strokes on the field with his flat stick. Only the current leader, Tringale, is putting better than him this week (+1.97).
Schwartzel, like Woodland, is also has experience winning on the PGA Tour. He won the 2011 Masters with a historic final round performance, and he also won the 2016 Valspar Championship. He and Louis Oosthuizen lost in a playoff to Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith in this year’s Zurich Classic.
Louis Oozthuizen +3300
Speaking of Louis Oosthuizen, he’s also still in contention at the 3M Open and could be worth a bet at +3300 odds ahead of the final round. He’s currently four strokes back from Tringale, but is easily the best golfer in the field this week. If there’s one golfer that’s further down the leaderboard that can make a run, it’s Oosthuizen.
He entered the event second on the PGA Tour in total strokes gained at +1.911, and he’ll be looking to capture the win to help ease the pain of how the Open Championship ended for him last week.
