Phillies vs. Nationals Prediction and Pick for Sunday, June 19 (Washington Rookie Tetreault in for a Rough Start)
By Matt De Saro
For the Washington Nationals, their current series against the streaking Philadelphia Phillies can’t end soon enough. The Phillies took the first three games of this five-game set by a combined score of 23-11. Game three ended on a controversial call but the Nationals continue to make a case for the worst team in the league. They entered this series at 23-42 and are poised to finish the year in the basement of the NL East.
Here are the odds for this game from consensus sportsbooks.

Phillies vs. Nationals Prediction and Pick
The Nationals couldn't have picked a worse time to encounter the Phillies, as Philadelphia is on a tear. They went 11-2 in the 13 games prior to the start of this series and already beat Washington three times to start with. With rookie Jackson Tetreault on the hill, I don’t foresee things going much better for Washington in this series finale.
Tetreault made his debut on Tuesday and was rocked by the Braves for seven runs in four innings. The righty gave up nine hits and three home runs in his MLB debut and enters this follow-up game with a 15.75 ERA and 2.50 WHIP. There isn’t much else to say except maybe a prayer for this guy going up against the hottest offense in the NL.
Zach Eflin, on the other hand, has been very good for the Phillies in 11 starts with a 3.98 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. His ERA in June is down to 2.50 and the Phillies are 2-1 straight up in his last three starts.
At the end of the day, it almost doesn't matter who is on the mound today. The Phillies are tearing teams up and the Nationals don’t have the offensive firepower to fight back.
Pick: Phillies -1.5 (-120)
