The Los Angeles Dodgers are massive favorites at home tonight against the third-place Pittsburgh Pirates in Game 2 of their three-game series. The Pirates managed to eke out a 6-5 win on the road last night against LA and now, shockingly, are 3-1 SU against the Dodgers this season. Not the kind of results one would expect from one of the worst teams in the MLB. The Dodgers can afford to lose a game here or there, but it’s not a good look to drop games to the likes of Pittsburgh.

Total:

Pirates vs. Dodgers Prediction and Pick

The Dodgers hope that Julio Urias can turn their fortunes around and avoid losing a second series to the Pirates this year.

Urias has been fantastic and has allowed just one earned run in his last 11 innings of work. He’s also dominated the Pirates once this season over six innings. Urias’ strikeout numbers are strong, he doesn’t walk many guys and is doing a good job of limiting hard contact. Aside from one disaster against the Phillies, Urias has been pretty lights out.

One guy who has not been sharp on the mound is Mitch Keller and gives LA a good shot at a revenge win tonight. Keller enters at 1-5 with a 6.05 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in 38 ⅔ innings of work. He did turn in two solid back-to-back starts. But, the Dodgers are beasts at the plate and Keller shut down the Rockies and Cubs. Keller also got crushed twice in a row by the Reds to the tune of 10 combined runs. If he can’t contain one of the worst offenses in the league, I can't imagine him succeeding against one of the best.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (-150)
