The two worst teams in the Eastern Conference face off on Wednesday night, with the Charlotte Hornets hosting the Detroit Pistons.

Charlotte has struggled mightily this season with injuries knocking LaMelo Ball and Gordon Hayward out of the lineup, going just 7-20 straight up. The team is in the midst of a five-game losing streak at the moment.

Meanwhile, the Pistons, who have lost three straight, have the worst record in the NBA and lost star Cade Cunningham for the season due to a shin injury.

Both of these teams are going nowhere fast, but does that bring some betting value to Wednesday’s matchup?

Pistons vs. Hornets Prediction and Pick

This is just an ugly matchup no matter how you look at it.

The Hornets ranks 30th in the NBA in offensive rating, 25th in defensive rating and 28th in net rating. Detroit comes into this game at 24th, 29th and 29th in those respective categories.

The tank for Victor Wembanyama is real.

The other glaring issue for both of these teams has been their struggles on the road. Detroit is just 3-13 straight up on the road, and that could be a problem considering it is a short road dog on Wednesday.

A lot of the times when two bad teams face off, taking the points would be my strategy.

However, the Hornets are 3-3 straight up at home in their last six games at Spectrum Center.

The best line for this game appears to be at DraftKings, where the Hornets are just 2.5-point favorites. I’ll trust them over the Cunningham-less Pistons in this game.
