Pistons vs. Pacers Prediction and Odds (Struggling Pacers No Match For Upstart Pistons)
By Joe Summers
The 22-56 Detroit Pistons bring a two-game winning streak into Indiana today as they take on the 25-53 Pacers at 5:00 PM EST.
Indiana has lost six straight as the wheels have fallen off their season, while the Pistons have quietly been the best spread bet in basketball lately. Detroit is 16-2-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last 20 and have covered in four straight.
Can the Pistons stay hot and cover yet again as short underdogs, or will Indiana snap out of their funk?
Here are the odds from WynnBET as we look for value in this Pistons vs Pacers matchup.

Pistons vs Pacers Prediction and Pick
Nothing, not even Covid-19, has surprised me more than the Pistons becoming the surest bet in basketball. In a time you'd expect Detroit to rack up losses in hopes of securing the No. 1 overall draft pick, they've instead turned into a well-oiled spread covering machine.
Since February 16th, shortly after Jerami Grant returned from injury, they're 17-2-2 against the spread (ATS). That's an 81% cover rate over almost two months. There aren't enough superlatives to describe how ridiculous that is, but just know that this kind of spread run isn't supposed to happen. Oddsmakers' literal jobs are to help prevent these kinds of streaks, but Cade Cunningham and the Pistons just keep laughing in sportsbooks' faces.
With Cunningham morphing into a star before our eyes, the Pistons have a foundation they have to be thrilled about. They rank 10th in net rating over their last 10 games, thanks to the third-best defense in the entire league during that span. For a squad that has had almost nothing to cheer about the last several years, that's a remarkable turnaround.
Indiana, meanwhile, much more closely resembles the tanking team we'd expect Detroit to be. They're 28th in net rating in their previous 10 contests with one of the worst defenses in basketball. The Pacers are just 2-5 outright in their last seven as a home favorite while Detroit is 8-0-1 ATS in their past nine as a road underdog.
I'm not one to return gifts, so I won't be thinking twice as I hammer the Pistons over at WynnBET today. Let's go Motor City, baby - you've made a believer out of me.
Pick: Pistons +2 (-110)
