A new week of NBA action tips off on Monday night when the Detroit Pistons hit the road to take on the Washington Wizards at the Capital One Arena.

The Wizards pulled off a big trade and got Kristaps Porzingis from the Mavericks but he’s dealing with a bone bruise and will likely be out tonight. The Wizards are also getting used to life without Bradley Beal who underwent season-ending left wrist surgery.

As the team’s leading scorer, this is a massive loss. This marks the second time these two teams have this year with the Wizards winning the first game 119-116 in overtime.

Here are the odds for this showdown courtesy of WynnBET:

Pistons vs. Wizards Prediction and Pick

Despite the Wizards playing shorthanded for the time being, they are still four-point favorites over a very bad Pistons team.

Detroit enters Monday on a seven-game losing streak and is 3-12 overall in its last 15 games. This is due to a complete lack of offense over the last few weeks and desperately need a spark to get on track.

Detroit is averaging just 102.5 points per game and has the 29th ranked offense in terms of efficiency. The Pistons do rebound well but those don't count for points, and Detroit needs to figure out their scoring issues ASAP. One bright spot on this team lately has been Saddiq Bey who is averaging 15.7 PPG and 5.7 RPG. If he has a good game, the Pistons have a chance to pull off an upset here.

The Pistons have a chance because, no matter how bad they are, the Wizards are only just a little bit better. Their offense ranks 22nd in efficiency and is now playing without their most talented offensive threat.

As much as I want to bet against the Wizards here, the Pistons aren’t the team to do it with. They have nobody that can reliably guard Kyle Kuzma with the 26th ranked defense in efficiency. There have been too many bad passes, shots, and games in their recent time on the court, and are impossible to reasonably trust in this game.

Lean: Wizards -4 (-110)
