It's been two weeks since the Columbus Blue Jackets (14-13-1) played a game at home, but they'll host the Nashville Predators (19-11-1) this evening for the first time since a 2-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks back on Dec. 9.

Both teams are coming off losses, but the Preds have been the much hotter team of late having eight of their last 10 matches before their most recent loss Wednesday night at Washington.

Nashville is on the second game of a road back-to-back, while Columbus hasn't played in almost two weeks; the last match being a 2-5 loss at Edmonton on Dec. 16. The Blue Jackets also get Patrik Laine back in the lineup tonight after missing 19 games with a strained oblique.

Here are the latest odds via WynnBET for tonight's matchup:

Predators vs. Blue Jackets Odds and Total

Moneyline:

  • Predators -110
  • Blue Jackets -110

Puck line:

  • Predators -1.5 (+195)
  • Blue Jackets +1.5 (-245)

Total:

Predators vs. Blue Jackets Prediction and Pick

If there's concern with the Blue Jackets shaking off any rust, the oddsmakers at WynnBET don't seem to have much concern. If anything, the line of -110 both ways shows far more concern for Nashville coming off a road loss yesterday in Washington, traveling to Columbus late last night, and playing another 60 minutes again tonight.

From a metrics standpoint, the Predators are the far superior team. They rank seventh in CORSI percentage, a metric that measures shot attempts at even strength over opponent attempts. The Blue Jackets rank just 26th. Nashville also outnumbers Columbus in high danger scoring chances by almost 40 (101:71).

By looking at the numbers alone, the Predators, despite being on the road should be heavy favorites. As much as I want to grab Nashville, it feels too much of a trap for me.

Instead, 'll side with the sharps and take Columbus on the moneyline at home.

PICK: Blue Jackets (-110)
