I know we're all locked into the NFL season, but let's not forget that the golf world has a big event set for this week; the Presidents Cup!

As a Canadian, I may care more about this event than some other people, but as bettors, we should all be looking forward to some team golf. It's Team USA vs. Team International, which includes all countries outside of Europe. This event alternates each year with the Ryder Cup, which admittedly, is the more competitive of the two.

Team USA is 11-1-1 against Team International. 1998 was the only time that the International Team won, and the two sides played to a 17-17 tie in 2003. Since then, USA has won eight-straight events, with the latest coming in a 16-14 victory in 2019.

Let's take a look at the odds via FanDuel Sportsbook for this year's edition of the Presidents Cup.

2022 Presidents Cup Prediction and Best Bet

Team International may have had a fighting chance, but with Cameron Smith and Joaquin Niemann signing with LIV Golf, making them ineligible for the tournament, they're now in a rough spot.

So much so, that Team USA is now a -700 favorite, which means they have an implied probability of 87.5% of winning.

But betting on sports isn't just betting on who you think will win. Betting on sports is all about finding value. So you have to ask yourself, is Team USA worthy of being this big of a favorite? If they played this tournament 100 times, would they win 87 times?

I say no.

Weird things happen in golf, especially in this types of events where there's a ton of 18-hole matchups that are all worth one point. For example, let's not forget that Team USA almost lost in 2019. They were down 10-8 heading into the final day, before surging back to win.

I'm sure I'll live to regret this, but give me Team International at +750.

Pick: Team International +750
