The ACC / Big Ten Challenge continues this Wednesday in what was supposed to be a much anticipated matchup between two of the more consistent teams in their respective conferences for the last several years.

This year, only one has lived up to the reputation.

No. 5 Purdue enters tonight undefeated as a 16.5-point favorite in Tallahassee vs. Florida State. The Seminoles have just one victory this season, are 1-7 on the year, and have lost three straight, all at the ESPN Events Invitational in Kissimmee, Florida.

Can the Seminoles wake up and kick-start their play at home, or will the Boilers be too hot to handle?

Purdue vs. Florida State Prediction and Pick

It's time for Florida State to start playing up to their talent.

The Seminoles were 66/1 to win the National Championship at the start of the season, ranked with teams like Iowa and Wisconsin to at least make the tournament and contend. Right now, they're a disaster offensively, scoring an average of just over 60 points per game in their last three matchups in their holiday tournament.

Even with their inconsistencies, they have the length to hang with Purdue if they battle defensively. Leonard Hamilton's teams have a Toronto Raptors-esque vibe to them, in that they're extremely long and athletic with multiple guys that can guard several different positions on the floor. They'll need that vs. a Purdue offense that ranks 4th in the nation in KenPom adjusted offensive efficiency, and that length will be helpful against 7-4 junior center Zach Edey, who's capable of 20 points and 7-plus rebounds most nights.

I expect the Seminoles to keep this somewhat competitive until they run out of gas and becom dejected from their inability to put the ball in the basket right now. Even still, that should be enough to cover a massive number at home.
