The No. 19 Purdue Boilermakers are coming into their second straight road game off a 59-31 loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes. The 6-4 Boilermakers are 3rd in the Big Ten West and had an impressive win the week before against Michigan State. It was a harsh snap back to reality for Purdue after an upset win.

Northwestern is also on the road here as this game is taking place at Wrigley Field and not Ryan Field. The Wildcats took an L to Wisconsin last week 35-7 in a game in which starting QB Andrew Marty threw for just 100 yards. He added three interceptions in what can only be described as a tragically poor outing. Marty has dive touchdowns and six interceptions on the season and one has to wonder if he is the best the Wildcats have to offer.

Purdue vs. Northwestern Prediction and Pick

The Purdue Boilermakers have to win this game if they have and hopes of finishing the season within the Top-25. They have a pretty good matchup to do so in considering how poorly the Wildcats have been playing. After beating Rutgers earlier in the year, the Wildcats have lost four games in a row, three of which came against ranked opponents. Northwestern’s offense is practically nonexistent and hasn’t scored more than 14 points in any of their last four games. Purdue still has something to play for while Northwestern looks dead in the water and fade-able for this week and next week at Illinois.

Pick: Purdue Boilermakers -11.0 (-110)
