Rafael Nadal Shocking Odds to Win Wimbledon
Nadal battled fitness concerns throughout his quarterfinals match against Fritz, looking worse for ware at times, but came back to knock off the big serving American in a deciding tiebreaker.
Now, it's reported that he is dealing with an abdominal tear, but he intends to play on Friday.
While this price may move as the opening odds move for the match between Nadal and Kyrgios, the two as seen as equals heading into the semis later this week. The two have met twice at Wimbledon and have each won. Kyrgios won in 2014, but Nadal bested his Aussie foe in 2019.
The mercurial Australian is in the best form of his career, making his first major semifinals, and is looking to finally breakthrough after years of antics on the court.
The talent is never a question for Kyrgios, but the nerves always seem to be. Nadal may not be in peak form at the moment, but he is going to make it a tough out regardless against the big serving Aussie. Can he hold up to win three sets?
More to come on this, but the fact that the two are priced the same in the futures market is jarring given the pedigree each come from. However, if you have been watching, Kyrgios appears game to nabbing the biggest win of his career and oddsmakers believe in him.
