Raiders Bettors Suffer Brutal Bad Beat in Las Vegas’ 31-28 Win Over Dolphins
By Peter Dewey
The Las Vegas Raiders closed as 3.5-point favorites against the Miami Dolphins at WynnBET Sportsbook, but they were unable to cover the spread in gut-wrenching fashion for Raiders bettors.
Las Vegas led 25-17 with just over two minutes to play, but the Dolphins’ final drive, helped by a pass interference call in the end zone, ended in a touchdown run by Jacoby Brissett and a two-point conversion to force overtime.
Raiders bettors still had some hope in overtime, as a Las Vegas touchdown would have saved the day, but the Raiders’ first drive stalled out at the Miami 20-yard line, leading to a Daniel Carlson field goal to give them a 28-25 lead.
Miami had a fourth-and-20 on its overtime drive, but Brissett found Mike Gesicki for a huge completion up the sideline to keep the Dolphins alive.
Miami's drive also stalled out, but in Raiders territory, allowing it to kick a field goal to tie the game.
Las Vegas got another chance to score and win the game, and Derek Carr found Bryan Edwards for a huge gain into Miami territory on a second-and-15. A Peyton Barber 27-yard run put Las Vegas in the red zone, and Jon Gruden let his team inch closer to the end zone before opting to kick a field goal.
Carlson finished the job with a 22-yard field goal.
The Raiders came away with a much-needed win, but left Raiders bettors as losers on this particular Sunday afternoon.
WynnBET had 82.2 percent of the handle in Sunday’s Raiders-Dolphins matchup on Las Vegas, and 87.3 percent of the bets were on the Raiders. Just a brutal loss for the public.
Las Vegas is now 3-0 on the season and tied with the Denver Broncos for the best record in the AFC.
