In this new world of pandemics and COVID protocols, wrenches are being thrown into cogs left and right. This week is lining up to be one of the more dramatic due to a massive outbreak over the weekend that affected several teams. And we’re still seeing new names pop up daily.

One of the bigger names to emerge is the Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield who tested positive along with Cleveland's head coach Kevin Stefanski. The pair joins Jarvis Landry and several other key players who are now on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

This has had a predictable effect on the betting odds heading into Saturday so let’s review the odds for this Week 15 showdowns as they now stand, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook

Raiders vs. Browns Prediction and Pick

I very seldom change my mind from early in the week when I write these updates. However, this is the first time that a significant chunk of the talent on this team was announced out after my initial breakdown.

Despite this, the injuries to the Browns don’t change the way I initially felt about the Raiders. I think that Derek Carr is a mess and so is this team overall. The Browns can still fall back on their running game and have already won this season with Case Keenum under center. The team they beat, the Denver Broncos, I think is better than the Raiders as well. In a way, this made the Browns an even more attractive play because now their ML odds are palatable.

Pick: Cleveland Browns -105 to win
