The Las Vegas Raiders had Week 8 off in what was a much-needed break with all the drama surrounding the team and their ex-coach. Now, the Raiders have a chance to get back on track with a matchup against the 2-5 New York Giants who are on short rest.

The Raiders managed to rise above the drama-filled season and currently lead the AFC West with a 5-2 record.

The team had an extra week to prep for this game, and let’s be honest, one week was probably enough to beat the Giants. Aside from a few slip-ups, the Raiders are playing good ball and I don’t see a whole lot the Giants can do to keep them from winning their sixth game of the season.

The Raiders need this win because their schedule gets a lot harder from here on out with games against the Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys coming down the pike.

Raiders vs. Giants Prediction and Pick

I think that we see the spread for this game shifts up for the Raiders so if you are inclined to take them, find them at -2.5 while you can.

Personally, I am inclined to back the Raiders this weekend against the Giants. Not only do I think they are more than field goal better of a team, but the rest advantage is also huge. As of this writing, the Giants haven’t even played their Week 8 matchup against the Chiefs.

That's a game that will be no walk in the park for the G-Men. Then, realize that the Raiders come off a bye and will have two weeks to prepare for a sub-par New York team.

The Giants are a very below-average team that will be playing on short rest against the team that currently leads the AFC West with a 5-2 record. I am actually a little shocked this spread is so close and am all over the Raiders at -2.5 or -3.0.

Prediction: Las Vegas Raiders -2.5 (-110)
