Interesting matchup at Welterweight to kick off the main card of UFC 275.

Ramazan Emeev has a ton of experience with the UFC and will look to get back on track after losing his last time out to Danny Roberts by split decision. He will have a stiff test against emerging Australian Jack Della Maddalena, who is 2-0 in the UFC and 11-2 in his career.

Can the younger Maddalena continue his ascent after a knockout victory in January at UFC 270, or will Emeev's experience and grapple-heavy approach lead to an underdog victory?

Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Ramazan Emeev vs. Jack Della Maddalena Odds, Total

Moneyline:

  • Ramazan Emeev: +130
  • Della Maddalena: -155

Total: 2.5 (Over -205/Under +170)

Ramazan Emeev vs. Jack Della Maddalena Prediction and Pick

I like the price on the underdog Emeev, who was a big favorite in his last three fights, winning two of three, but lost a questionable split decision to Danny Roberts. One judge scored the fight 30-27 in favor of him, but the other judges scored it 28-29. Emeev is 35, so age can be an issue, but I like how he matches up with the Aussie given his ability to grapple.

The Russian born fighter averages more than two takedowns per 15 minutes, and has seven UFC fights under his belt dating back to 2017. He has been finished twice in his 25 career bouts and I like Emeev's ability to push this fight against the cage, and eventually the ground, to slow down the knockout artist in Della Maddalena. It's worth noting that the underdog has a three-inch reach advantage, per UFCStats.com.

The favorite made quick work of Pete Rodriguez, who has five total fights to his name, in his first official UFC bout, but Emeev has shown to have a granite chin throughout his career. Despite losing as a big favorite last time out, I like him to ground this fight to a halt and pick up a decision victory.
