Here we go, a preseason Week 3 Super Bowl rematch. Sure, neither team will play their starting quarterback, but it will be the same jerseys on the field. That’s good enough to quench our appetite for football until college football Week 0 or NFL Week 1.

Both teams will try to figure out who their players on the margins will be. They both clearly have the foundation but preseason Week 3 will be all about the 50-53 guys on the roster.

The line for this one has not moved at all since it opened. Probably because Vegas knew that neither team would play their starting QB and that has not changed. Quarterbacks move lines and everyone knew they were both out.

Rams vs. Bengals Prediction and Best Bet

Nothing has changed in the line since I wrote my first prediction for this one, so really not much will change in my prediction. Earlier in the week I wrote about how neither coach values the preseason and that is true. I also mentioned how Zac Taylor maybe cares even less than Sean McVay, who was the original coach to make it cool to ignore the preseason. However, today we can look at the backup quarterbacks.

Brandon Allen and Jake Browning are going to take most of the snaps for Cincinnati. Drew Plitt may also see the field. Neither Allen nor Browning threw a touchdown a week ago when the Bengals put up 22 points in a loss. They are not very inspiring backups behind Joe Burrow, but it isn’t much worse than L.A.

The Rams have John Wolford and Bryce Perkins behind Matthew Stafford. The Rams did not throw a touchdown a week ago either. There is no young QB with some promise or very good veteran like Tyrod Taylor backing up for either of these teams. So, just take the slight underdog with a slightly better roster and the coach with the better preseason record.

Pick: Rams +120
