A battle of Los Angeles is set for Week 17 of the NFL when the Rams take on the Chargers.

The Chargers locked in a playoff berth with a Week 16 win against the Colts, but they can still improve their seed. Grabbing the top wild card spot will be important, as whatever team it is will have by far the easiest matchup amongst wild card teams, getting to face the weakest division winner in the AFC South.

Meanwhile, the Rams have nothing to play for, but that hasn't stopped them from giving it their all in recent weeks and they're hot off a 51-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Let's dive into the odds.

Rams vs. Chargers Odds, Spread, and Total

Rams vs. Chargers Betting Trends

  • Rams are 4-2 ATS in their last six games against Chargers
  • The UNDER is 7-1 in the Rams' last eight games against AFC opponents
  • Rams are 7-1 straight up in last eight games against AFC West opponents
  • The OVER is 8-1 in the last nine meetings between these two teams
  • Chargers are 8-4 ATS in last 12 games against NFC opponents
  • Chargers are 7-1 straight up in last eight games as favorites

Rams vs. Chargers Prediction and Pick

I have tried to bet against both of these teams in recent weeks to no avail, so instead I'm going to bet on the total.

The Chargers defense has been bad throughout the season and the total is way too low for a game involving them. They're 26th in opponent yards per play this season and they're 18th in opponent third down conversion rate.

The Rams offense has been a lot better under Baker Mayfield, and we know he's playing with a chip on his shoulder as he tries to prove that he deserves to be a starting quarterback in the NFL. They're also averaging 26.7 points per game over their last three contests, which is in the top 10 in the NFL over that stretch.

With the total set at 40.5 points, we don't need much for this OVER to hit. In what should be a fun battle of LA, let's sit back and root for points.
