Rangers vs. Angels Prediction and Odds for Friday, July 29 (Bet LA at Home)
By Reed Wallach
The Angels couldn't produce for Shohei Ohtani once again, as the team lost 2-0 to the Texas Rangers despite another quality start from the AL MVP candidate.
Now, the Angels look to get back on track against the Rangers with another solid starter on the bump, Patrick Sandoval, who will face-off against AL All-Star Martín Pérez. In a battle of southpaws, is there a side to bet?
Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Rangers vs. Angels Prediction and Pick
In a battle of two underwhelming teams, I'll side with the Angels. While Sandoval's numbers don't look great, he has struggled against elite competition -- he allowed 14 runs to the Braves, Dodgers and Astros in three starts since the beginning of June -- Sandoval has done well elsewise against worse competition, yielding seven runs over the other five starts in that time frame.
The Rangers fall into the second bucket of just decent offense, 15th in batting average against southpaws. While Pérez was the All-Star, he has an ERA nearing 4.00 since the beginning of June, hinting that he is trending in the wrong direction.
Yes, Los Angeles struggles against lefties, 25th in batting average, but I think they should be closer to -130 with the edge on the mound and the fact that Texas isn't all that great against southpaws either.
LEAN: Angles ML (-111)
