Both the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs enter tonight's matchup tied for fourth with 23 points on the season; trailing only Florida, Washington and Carolina.

Both teams are on a four-game win streak heading into Thursday night, but Toronto looks like the hottest team in hockey at the moment, going 9-1-0 over their last 10 games.

With a victory, each could find themselves at the top of the East with 26 points, so we could see some aggressive scoring chances come into play if this one remains tight.

While I'm tempted to ride with the red-hot Leafs at home where they're 8-2-1 in their home arena, I think there's better value elsewhere with the total.

5.5 is a fairly low number for two elite teams in the sport, but it's also a reasonable one considering how locked in both goalies have been.

For the Rangers, Igor Shesterkin has been a top tier goaltender all season long, and has been a steady, reliable force in net for New York. The Rangers are 8-2 in his starts, boasting a .930 save percentage including a shutout.

Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs counter with perhaps the No.1 goaltender in the NHL this season in Jack Campbell. The 29-year old has remained red hot for Toronto after going 17-3-2 just a season ago, but has an eye-opening 1.68 goals against average in 2021; the best in the sport.

While both Toronto and New York give up more than 30 shots against/games played, I still think it's a safe bet to rely on the sharp play between the pipes and take the under tonight.

PICK: UNDER 5.5 GOALS (+100)
