Wednesday marks the third and final game of this three-gamer between Texas and Kansas City.

The Royals, one of the worst teams in the league, have been the first to designate themselves as sellers, trading away Carlos Santana to Seattle for a few minor league arms. This likely won’t be the last move the Royals make to offload some of their veteran players.

The Rangers are teetering on the line of buyer or seller come July. They are hanging around .500 and hoping to make up ground on teams like KC.

The Royals give the ball to Zack Greinke as Texas goes with Dane Dunning for Game 3.

Rangers vs. Royals Prediction and Pick

Zack Greinke returned from injury with a start against Oakland on June 24 and impressed, throwing 84 pitches over six innings and giving up just one run on three hits. Later in the week, he proceeded to follow that up with one of the most bizarre fan interactions I’ve ever heard of.

So here is my assessment of the situation. If this is true, a huge if, then it depends greatly on the age of the fan with the ball. If it is a kid, and I’ll extend that even all the way up to 19 or 20 years old, then Greinke is a huge weirdo jerk. However, if the person seeking the autograph was above that age and was not doing so for a kid that was nearby, then that guy is a huge weirdo jerk and Greinke is a hero.

Let’s just assume it was one of those weirdos and Greinke is a a stand up guy.

Meanwhile, Greinke has some positive indicators making me confident he can hold down a Rangers lineup. While his ERA if 4.68, the veteran has a FIP of 4.33. I'm going to trust him at home to take care of business and for the Royals to grab a win in a projected coin flip.

Pick: Royals +113
