The MLB season is getting ready to enter the second half of its schedule, and teams have begun to separate themselves from the pack. The contenders have revealed themselves, and the pretenders find themselves with little to play for throughout the final few months of the season.

The latest World Series odds still have a plethora of teams in contention, but WynnBET has released special betting odds for anyone who may not want to gamble on any one team. Instead, you can bet on which division the World Series winning team will come from.

Many like to argue that the division that their favorite team plays in is the best in the Majors, but what divisions do the oddsmakers think have the best chance of winning the Fall Classic?

Here are the rankings of each MLB division, sorted by WynnBET’s odds to have a World Series winning team.

National League West +175

It’s no surprise that the National League West has the shortest betting odds to win the World Series. Last year’s winner, the Los Angeles Dodgers, are currently the betting favorites to win their second consecutive championship. The San Francisco Giants, who have been the surprise story of the MLB season, are leading the division and have the best record in baseball. Finally, the San Diego Padres are also going to be competitive, especially with their new emerging star Fernando Tatis Jr. in the lineup.

The National League pennant goes through the NL West, whoever ends up representing them in the postseason.

American League East +325

Much like the Giants, the Boston Red Sox have been a surprisingly good team this season. They’re tied with the Houston Astros for the best record in the American League at 55-26, and hold a 1.5 game lead on the division over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays will be looking to get back to the World Series after falling short against the Dodgers in 2020.

The AL East is also home to the Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees, both teams which currently sit just outside the final wild card spot, but could go on a late-season run and be a strong contender in the playoffs.

American League West +350

The American League West leading Houston Astros boast the best offense in baseball at the All-Star break. They’re averaging 5.45 runs per game, which is an average of 0.22 more runs per game than the next best team, which is the Dodgers at 5.23.

The AL West is also home to the 52-40 Oakland Athletics, who currently hold a slim lead for the final wild card spot in the American League. While the Mariners and Angels both have a winning record, neither are expected to go on a run down the stretch of the season. Oh, and the Texas Rangers stink.

National League East +500

In what many people thought was going to be the toughest division in baseball, the National League East has been bit by the injury bug throughout the first half of the season. Most notably, the Atlanta Braves lost their star, Ronald Acuna Jr., with an ACL injury right before the All-Star break.

The New York Mets are leading the division at 47-40, but only nine games separate the Mets and the last place team in the division, the Miami Marlins. It may not be the toughest division in baseball, but it sure is competitive.

American League Central +550

This type of bet begins to lose its value once you reach the American League Central. This bet is basically on whether or not the Chicago White Sox will win the World Series, so you’re better off just betting on them alone. WynnBET has them set as -2000 favorites to win the division.

The Cleveland Indians are the only other team with a winning record at 45-42, but they don’t have the talent or depth to compete for a Wild Card spot in the American League.

National League Central +650

According to WynnBET, the National League Central is the worst division in baseball. Or at least, it's the least likely to have a World Series winner represent them.

The Milwaukee Brewers were one of the hottest teams in baseball down the stretch, and they entered the All-Star break with a 53-39 record, four games ahead of the Cincinnati Reds.

With the stacked NL West almost guaranteeing themselves the other two wild card spots, expect to only see the division winner from the NL Central competing in the playoffs. Do you really think the Brewers or the Reds can win the Fall Classic? I sure don’t.
