Ravens Losing Ground in AFC North Odds
By Peter Dewey
The AFC North is going to be one of the closest divisions in the NFL once again this season after three teams made the postseason in the 2020 campaign.
The Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers all made the playoffs in 2020, and with the Cincinnati Bengals getting a healthy Joe Burrow back, this is shaping up to be one of the best divisions in the league.
Baltimore, who was once the +105 favorite to win the division on WynnBET, has seen its odds slip to +125, with the Browns (+140) right behind the Ravens in the standings.
The Steelers (+400) aren’t expected to have the same success as last year when they started 11-0 and eventually won the division with a 12-4 record despite dropping four of their last five games.
In the two-team race between the Browns and the Ravens, does Baltimore make even more sense now that it is +125?
They have some serious injury issues at wide receiver, but Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards (now that J.K. Dobbins is hurt) are going to lead one of the league’s best rushing attacks again in 2021.
Baltimore is also getting left tackle Ronnie Stanley back for Week 1, which is a huge win after he missed most of last season due to injury.
The Browns improved defensively this offseason with Jadeveon Clowney, Troy Hill and John Johnson III in free agency, but bettors would have to trust Baker Mayfield more than Jackson to take the Browns to win the division.
I like the Ravens to win the division because of Jackson’s one-of-a-kind ability, and now that they’re at +125 odds, it's even a better value to take heading into the 2021 season.
