Ravens vs. Jets Prediction: Don’t Let Line Movement Scare You from Betting Lamar Jackson, Ravens
By Peter Dewey
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are a team primed to bounce back in the 2022 season after injuries led to a last-place finish in the AFC North in 2021.
Baltimore has a perfect spot to get the 2022 season started off on the right foot, as it takes on the New York Jets, who are without starting quarterback Zach Wilson (meniscus) in Week 1. Former Raven, Joe Flacco, will get the start for the Jets.
With Jackson in a contract year, the Ravens could be a sneaky pick in the AFC, but their offense may not be at full strength for a few weeks with running backs Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins both coming off of knee injuries.
Do the Jets have value as home underdogs in Week 1? Or do the Ravens roll? Let’s jump into the latest odds from FanDuel:

Ravens vs. Jets Odds, Spread and Total Movement in NFL Week 1
With the news that Wilson would miss this game, the Ravens have moved from 6.5-point favorites to 7.5-point favorites.
This is significant, as it takes bettors through that key number of seven now that Flacco is under center.
Ravens vs. Jets Best Bet and Prediction
It’s Baltimore or nothing for me in Week 1.
The Ravens are a far more offensively talented team with Wilson sitting for New York, and they have traditionally been dominant in Week 1 over the last few seasons.
Plus, John Harbuagh rarely squanders Week 1 games, and this is too easy of matchup for a healthy Ravens team.
John Harbaugh Week 1 Betting Trends
John Harbaugh is one of the best coaches in the NFL in the league’s opening week of the season, and he should be able to build on that with his team facing a backup quarterback, although Flacco isn’t a typical backup.
- John Harbaugh is 10-4 straight up in Week 1 in his coaching career
- John Harbuagh is 10-4 ATS in Week 1 in his coaching career
Baltimore was in first place in the AFC last season before Jackson was injured, and I think this team is one of the best in the NFL barring injury. Don’t overthink this one, ride with Baltimore against a backup QB.
