I’m pretty sure Tua Tagovailoa will be in a suite with Robert Kraft and Steve Bisciotti for this game because he now owns the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots. Tua has left the Ravens and Patriots both 1-1 with Baltimore particularly stunned after blowing a 35-14 lead in the fourth quarter.

The Patriots got a win in a rock fight in Pittsburgh and now they will host the Ravens for their home-opener.

Ravens vs. Patriots Prediction and Pick

I have no idea what I’m supposed to do with the Ravens secondary right now. They gave up 469 yards passing and six touchdowns to Tua last week. After expecting a bounce back campaign after being riddled with injuries, the defense looked out of sorts. It wasn’t just that the unit played poorly, it was that they didn’t communicate well and looked disorganized. You rarely ever see that from the Ravens.

It’s a problem long-term, but for Week 3 I don’t think it matters as much. Mac Jones can’t push the ball downfield like Tua did, not because he’s incapable, but because he doesn’t have Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, maybe the two fastest receivers in the entire NFL. The Ravens got beat with speed and the Patriots have none. Sure, Nelson Agholor caught a long touchdown, but he had no separation, Akhello Witherspoon just didn’t make a play on the ball at all.

DeVante Parker gets maybe the least separation of any wide receiver in the league and even with all day in the pocket, Jones only threw for 252 yards on Pittsburgh. It’s a good day, but it should’ve been much more because the Steelers didn’t generate any pressure.

Oh and Lamar Jackson went nuclear this week. He was outshined by Tua, but he was incredible with 318 yards passing and three touchdowns through the air and 119 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

The Ravens have problems, but they aren’t problems that New England can expose.

Pick: Ravens -3 (-110)
