After an 11-3 victory over Tampa Bay yesterday, the 20-11 Los Angeles Angels have won five of six as they get set to host the 18-12 Rays in the second game of their series tonight at 9:38 PM EST.

The Rays have dropped two straight after a six-game winning streak and will send Corey Kluber out in hopes of getting back in the win column. Kluber has allowed just one run and four hits over 12 innings in his last two starts, but got smacked around for 11 hits and four runs against Boston in the outing before that.

Los Angeles will counter with Reid Detmers, who has allowed three or fewer runs in four of his five starts but has struggled with going deep into games. The 22-year-old former first round pick is oozing with potential, and I'm anxious to see if he harnesses it over the course of the season.

Can the Angels stay hot against Kluber or will Tampa Bay get revenge after last night's beatdown?

Rays vs. Angels Prediction and Pick

Don't look now and don't get too excited, but this Angels squad may be the one we've all been waiting years for. Their lineup is healthy, their pitching staff is playing well, and they're tied with the Yankees and Dodgers for the most wins in the league.

Over their last six games, Los Angeles is averaging 6.67 runs per game, a mark that would easily be best in MLB. They have the best OPS in the sport and third-best OPS against right-handed pitchers, so Kluber will need his best stuff to keep their bats at bay.

Kluber has been impressive, amassing a 2.36 ERA, but I have cause for concern. He's in the third percentile in fastball velocity and while he's never been a high-velocity guy, that kind of low speed leaves you vulnerable to powerful lineups. Los Angeles may have the most powerful lineup in all of baseball, so that's bad news for the Rays.

Each of Kluber's five starts have come against a team in the bottom half of the league in OPS against right-handed pitchers. He's had an easy go of it so far, but the blowup potential was showcased in an 11-hit, five-inning outing against the Red Sox.

Tampa Bay should be able to get to Reid Detmers as well. They're sixth in OPS against left-handed pitchers and are averaging 5.37 runs per game over their last eight contests. Detmers hasn't made it to the sixth inning in any of his starts, so the Angels will need to rely heavily on their bullpen today as well.

I love the over in this matchup as both teams should be able to notch some runs. The over is 7-2-1 in Tampa Bay's last 10 and 5-1 in Los Angeles' last six. Those trends continue today as these lineups stay hot. As a bonus, the wind is blowing out to center field. Bank on the over.

Pick: Over 8 Runs (-120)
