The Tampa Bay Rays are riding high into Fenway Park, winners of six straight. Tonight is the 11th meeting of the season between the Rays and the Boston Red Sox, Tampa leads the series, 8-2. The Rays also hold the top Wild Card spot in the AL at 69-55 and are suddenly only 7.5 games behind New York. Boston is last in the division, 60-65.

Tampa is going with a bullpen game tonight started by JT Chargois and Boston has Michael Wacha on the mound for his 16th start of the year.

Let’s take a look at the odds from WynnBET, for this game in the AL East.

Rays vs. Red Sox Odds, Run Line and Total

Rays vs. Red Sox Prediction and Pick

Michael Wacha has faced Tampa Bay once this year and is responsible for one of the two Red Sox wins over the Rays. It was all the way back on April 22, Wacha went five innings and allowed just two runs. The righty has also been hot lately, not allowing a run in either of his last two starts and winning both. His ERA is 2.28, but his fielding independent pitching is 3.61.

That is just the first sign of how flimsy his numbers are. His expected ERA is 4.26, his expected batting average, expected slugging, and strikeout rate are all in the bottom 30% of pitchers in the MLB. Injury kept him out for a portion of the season, that is why he has only made 15 starts, but as his innings increase it appears that serious regression will be coming for him.

This is a perfect spot for Wacha’s facade of a season to be wiped away. The Rays are rolling into Fenway with a top five offense over the past week and a sub two ERA in the past 10 days.

Pick: Rays +108
