A big series finale in the AL East as the Tampa Bay Rays look to hold onto their place in the AL Wild Card race. While the Boston Red Sox try to play spoiler for their rivals in the division. Boston cooled off the Rays with a big win in Game 1 of the series and now on Sunday can the Rays get a new winning streak going, or will Boston continue to chip away at the Rays playoff hopes.

Corey Kluber goes for Tampa and is opposed by Nick Pivetta for Boston. Odds are available for this AL East battle at Wynnbet Sportsbook.

Rays vs. Red Sox Prediction and Pick

Corey Kluber has pitched well in his last two starts for the Rays. Six innings in both and only three runs allowed across the two starts. Kluber’s ERA has dropped to 4.20 which is heading towards his fielding independent pitching of 3.50. That indicates his ERA will drop more and more. Kluber has been better than an 8-7 record and four plus ERA.

Nick Pivetta has also done well in his last few starts. Though the Red Sox are 1-3 in his starts in August. His ERA is 4.24 after giving up only two earned runs in his last 12.2 innings pitched. A Sunday day game with two solid starting pitchers and a pretty high total feels like a classic 3-2 win for either team.

I think the pitchers will have the advantage in Fenway even with this series starting with a high scoring affair. Kluber and Pivetta should do well enough for the under to hit. As long as the bullpen can hold it down after they are done for the day.

Lean: Under 9.0 (-115)
