This series began in one of the most bizarre ways possible. Last night, the Reds won Game 1, 2-1, on a walk-off balk in the 10th inning. There have only been 23 games ever to end in such a fashion.

Tampa Bay, now 45-38, sit in second in the AL East. With the win, Cincinnati moves to 30-54. The Reds managed to avoid becoming the last team in the MLB to reach 30 wins, Oakland holds that distinction.

Tonight in Game 2, Hunter Greene takse the mound for the Reds and Drew Rassmussen goes on the bump for Tampa Bay.

Rays vs. Reds Prediction and Pick

Cincinnati is 4-6 in their last 10 games, but it could easily be much worse. They have been outscored by 22 runs, are hitting under the Mendoza line as a team and have an ERA north of five in that stretch of games. Nick Senzel has been somewhat of a bright spot for their offense in those games, hitting .333 with two home runs.

The Reds got the win last night but only managed two runs on four hits and one of those runs scored on the game winning balk. It appears that the offense for Cincy is hardly keeping them competitive and with Hunter Greene on the mound, that could mean a big win for Tampa.

Greene is 3-10 with a 6.01 ERA in almost 80 innings of work this year. Earlier this season he had some stats that seemed to indicate he was better than his traditional numbers say, but as his struggles persist we have to admit this rookie campaign is looking more and more like a failure.

Pick: Rays -1.5 (+100)
